Raul Mendez

Raul Mendez "Kelly" age 57 of South Chicago passed away on April 26, 2022 may he Rest In Peace.  Raul was a maintenance manager in Hammond Indiana for several years and worked for the City of Chicago. He loved his music, especially the oldies and Puerto Rican Salsa. Kelly also enjoyed cooking Puerto Rican dishes for his family and friends. Raul often visited his sister Rosa and his brother-in-law Steve to smoke a cigarette and reminiscence, and fix anything that wasn’t working. Raul was the families "Mr. Fix it", and enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed his trips to Florida with his niece Angie and loved to spend time near the ocean. His voice and his favorite saying “AH MAMA” will be forever missed. Beloved son of late Guadalupe Deleon, Miguel Mendez, loving brother to late Esperanza (Renee) Panigua, late Lupe “Pancha” (John) Bjork, Late Juanita (Ron) Devon, Robert (Rose) Deleon, Miguel Mendez Jr., David (Lupe) Mendez and Rosa (Steven) Maldonado. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews, and will be missed by his cat “MAMA”
