Jenny Elizabeth Barrios
January 27, 1932 - January 14, 2021
Jenny Elizabeth Barrios (nee Granados) age 88, of Hegewisch passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Jenny Elizabeth was true to her Catholic Faith and religiously attended mass every Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on 91st on the South Side of Chicago. She loved her walks through Commercial Ave where her pass time was window shopping. She loved watching old western movies and her little house on the prairie and loved getting her hair brushed by her grandchildren. Jenny was a kind and generous woman, and she was always considered the “weather girl” by those that knew her as she would always say things like: "it’s going to be cold bundle up; hey it's going to be sunny out you got your glasses; it's going to rain you got your umbrella." This was just one of the ways in which Jenny would show her love and kindness to her friends and family.
Jenny passed away just 2 weeks shy of her 89th Birthday, and she would have celebrated the day with her family at her side that loved her dearly. She was a strong, dedicated, and good-hearted person that everyone was fond of. Although she had many hidden heart aches, hurdles, and tribulations, she was always silly and a kid at heart.
Jenny was a loving wife to the late Manuel B. Barrios after many years of marriage. Beloved mother of late Manuel E. Barrios Jr., Francisco (Rose), Javier, Juanita (John Jr.), Rosa (Carlos). Fond Mother-in-law of the late Rick Paz. Dearest grandmother of Frank Jr, Niko, Sabrina, John III, Ashley, Kelly, Luke, Gerardo, Maria, Robert, Vanessa, Carlos Jr., and Megan. Caring Great Grandmother of Julian, Leila, Alassandrea, Ahlina, Charlotte, Genevieve, Anthony, Gianna, Aurora, and Luke Jr., Adrian, Elliana, Anthony, Isabel, Maribel, and Anabel. Cherished and loyal friend to many.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666).
