Carmela Soto-Rodriguez age 82 of South Chicago, originally from Mexico passed on July 26, 2020 in Colorado surrounded by the comfort of her family. Carmela lived in South Chicago for many years and moved to Hegewisch in the late 90’s. She raised 6 children with her late husband Delfino Rodriguez whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to many. She was a loving soul. You could always count on Carmela if ever in need and would welcome everyone in her home with a smile and pastry. Carmela was a devoted active member of her parish. Carmela was the beloved daughter of late Juan and Fernanda Soto, loving wife of late Delfino Rodriguez, cherished mother of Guillermo Rodriguez, Blanca Rodriguez-Salazar, Pablo Rodriguez, Carmen Rodriguez-Solorzano, Maria Rodriguez, and Carlos Rodriguez. She was a loving grandmother of Eduardo, Omar, Lidia, Yvette, Isamar, Ivan, Elijah, Karina, Cesar, Delia, Yesenia, Felipe, Maximiliano, Erika, Cynthia, Fabiola, Gustavo, Griselda, Veronica, Michael, Jonathan, Galilea, and Saira. Dearest great-grandmother of Brianna, Benjamin, Natalia, Vanessa and Ethan. Dearest friend of many though they take comfort knowing that she is now reunited with her great love. The family would like to thank everyone for their condolences.
