June 25, 1934 – July 29, 2024
The Garcia family announces with great sadness the passing of Salvador "Bugs" Garcia, who was called to his eternal rest on July 29, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on June 25, 1934, in Yoakum, Texas, he was a man of great faith and devotion to his family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Amelia "Millie" Pedroza Garcia and his loving children, Laura, Salvador "Tony", Lisa, Norma and Rita Garcia. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon, son Henry, and his parents Preciliana and Salvador Garcia, and his great-grandsons. Salvador's memory will be forever cherished by his 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Dearest brother of Rosie, Clara, late Helene and late Dolores, who reside in his home state Texas. Fond uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Salvador had a strong work ethic working many years at Wisconsin Steel to provide for his family even after retirement continued to work. Salvador's life was filled with the joy of sports, including bowling and baseball, and he was well-known for umpiring at local South Chicago parks. His love for the game was evident in his enthusiastic participation and support.
As a devout parishioner of Immaculate Conception, Salvador's life was a testament to his strong faith. The Garcia family will welcome friends and relatives for visitation at Sadowski Funeral Home 13300 S Houston Ave, Chicago, IL 60633, on August 2, 2024, from 3:00 PM- 8:00PM. A funeral mass will be held in Salvador's honor at Immaculate Conception on August 3 at 9:00 AM, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Salvador's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation for Salvador will be held on Friday, August 2 2024 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Prayer Service 7:00 PM. Funeral Service Saturday 7:30 AM until 8:30 AM. Prayer Service to Commence at 8:00 AM for 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church of South Chicago. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois.
