Obituary

Sra. Rosa Ycela Lujen de Quijano age 65 of Hammond, Indiana formerly of South Chicago passed away on September 28, 2019. Beloved daughter of Beatriz Morales and Alberto Quijano. Born September 11, 1954 in Monterrey Nuevo Leon. She is proceeded in death by her brothers Jorge and Armando Quijano. Her beautiful life will be cherished in the lives of her siblings Luis Alfredo Quijano, Martha Ruiz (Juan Manuel), Aurora Aguilar(Thomas), her children Luis Lujen, Rosa Lujen (Jose Rosario), Ludivina Lujen, Josefina Quijano Carpanzano (Mario), Bernardo Quijano (Pricila), Paloma Lepley (Zachary), Faviola Quijano (Dan Welman), Ana Maria Quijano (Daniel Espinoza), grandchildren Manuel Galindo, Miranda Galindo, Jazlyn Chico, Jocelyn Lujen, Ashley Flores, Mirraya Lujen, Jose Ramirez, Michael Lujen, Alonso Ramirez, Aurora Lujen, Isabella Lujen, Canio Carpanzano, Fia Carpanzano, her great grandchildren Dominic Galindo and Mia Galindo and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She met God's will with strength and grace. Rosa never missed an opportunity to challenge your fears, and your doubts.  Never has there been a more tolerant, more giving woman. Rosa was the first to say she was fallible and most of us would vehemently disagree with her.  She taught us to love without fear, always be slow to judge, and give to those who are in need.  Reminding us that there is always someone in more need than you. Her support for her family was endless.  She would travel to the farthest reaches to show us support traveling the farthest edges of our country and Mexico.  No graduation, birth, or deployment was too far for her to come and support us. A long time waitress and bartender, Rosita was the person in South Chicago that you could tell your fears and needs without any judgement. You could be sure that she would give you half of her tips just to be sure you were able to eat. Later in life she became the same reliable friend and co-worker at Carl Buddig where she worked as a food packer.  We have been honored to call her daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and most of all friend. She was, and will always be the center of our universe. Her laugh and larger than life smile will always linger in our minds and hearts.

She will have no fear of bad news; her heart is steadfast, trusting in the lord. Psalms 112:7
