Robert Rys Sr. age 86 of Hegewisch passed away on April 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was a life long resident of Hegewisch and spent many years of his life with friends and family throughout the neighborhood. He worked at Republic Steel and then became a pipe fitter with Local 597 until he retired in 1998. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf.  He also enjoyed playing his accordion and concertina. Bob married Florence (nee Koza) in 1956, and enjoyed 67 years of marriage before Florence passed away in November 2021.

Bob is the beloved son of late John and Marie Rys. Loving father of Susan (Camby) Compton, Robert Rys Jr., and Pamela (Michael) Bendy. Beloved brother of John Rys Jr.. Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Genuine friend to many.

Arrangements entrusted to Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave, Chicago, IL 60633. Interment Private.

Bob will be dearly missed by family and friends.
