With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Diaz, age 78, a remarkable woman whose life was a vibrant tapestry of dedication, love, and unyielding spirit. Mary passed on January 19, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories for all who were fortunate to know her.  Mary was the youngest and last surviving member of the Seven Diaz children, a distinction that perhaps fueled her spirited nature and zest for life. She was Preceded by her siblings:  Arthur (Toni), Richard (Marcy), Dora (Leto), Gilbert (Carol), Rudy (Mary), Angie (Ben).

She was a devoted mother to Patricia, a proud grandmother to Alizandra and Alyssa (Tae), and a loving great-grandmother to Aalayla and Aalina. She dedicated three decades of her life as a skilled factory worker for Danish Maid Butter, where her hard work and passion was evident by her colleagues. Her commitment to providing for her family was unwavering, a testament to her character and love. Her love for life was infectious. Mary was always ready to dance, drink, and celebrate, bringing energy and laughter to every gathering. Her presence was magnetic, and she was truly the life of any room she entered, leaving an indelible impression on everyone she met.

She also enjoyed her daily walks with friends, swimming and especially Bingo Nights with the Ladies! Mary's love for her family and friends was fierce and unconditional. Her family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. As a beloved aunt and great-aunt to the Diaz's, Valdiva's, Ventura's and many more, her warmth and humor enriched their lives immeasurably. Mary Diaz's vibrant spirit, fierce love, and joyful heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the laughter and love she shared, a lasting reminder of a life lived to the fullest.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, 01/24/2025 at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL. 60633. Prayer service to commence at 7:30 PM. The family of Mary invites all who knew her to join in remembering the joy she brought to our lives.
