In Loving Memory of Martin M. Surdell

Martin M. Surdell age 83 of Hegewisch passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017. Martin served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he was a dedicated member of PLAV Post 44 of Hegewisch and the American Legion Post 388. Martin retired as a Superintendent after 30 years of service with Republic Steel South Works. Beloved son of late John and Charlotte "Edna" Surdell, loving brother of Richard (Joan) Surdell, loving husband for 6o years of Therese Surdell (nee Rzonca), cherished father of Cindy (Dennis) Stacy, Steven (Jennifer) Surdell and Terri Surdell, dearest grandfather of Jacqueline and Ian. Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4 PM until 7 PM at the Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666) and on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 8 AM until 9 AM. Prayers from Chapel at 9 AM for a 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Florian Church of Hegewisch with Rev. Robert Marchwiany officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
