Martin Cabrera Cruz "Chon" age 58 of South Chicago passed away on May 16, 2022 surrounded by his family. Martin was born and raised in South Chicago, and he attended Phil Sheridan and Bowen High School. Martin was known for his passion for helping people and looking out for anyone he could. He loved his music, especially rock and salsa music.  Martin's stepfather Juan taught him how to fix cars and do handy work around the house and yard.  Martin was a good man and he loved his family and friends.

Beloved son of late Nelson Cabrera and Guadalupe Cruz Hernandez. Cherished step-son of Juan Hernandez. Loving brother of late Alfredo (Eufracia) Cabrera Cruz and Veronica Hernandez. Loving father to Maricela (Michael) Tellez, late Carina Lydia Cabrera and Sandra Rose Cabrera. Cherished grandfather of Xavier, Natalia, and Karina. Loving uncle to Eliana and Nayeli Anaya, and Alfredo Jr. Cabrera.

Arrangements entrusted to Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave., Chicago, IL 60633. Visitation for Martin will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Prayer Service to commence at 5:00 PM. Interment Private.
