Maria E Villagomez,71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of 50 years to Pompeyo Villagomez. Loving mother of Graciela (Don) Dusing, Veronica Villagomez, Pompeyo Jr. (Claudia) Villagomez, Maria (David) Rodriguez. Beloved grandmother of Eric, Juliana (Casi), Jaime, Mayah, Clarissa, Marco, Miklo, Javier, Mariah, Yasmine, Giselle, and Angelo. She had three great-grandchildren, Adolfo Jr., Elias, and Bryson. She loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family very much. She was called "Lita" by almost everyone and was also known as "Nena" by her siblings, other family members, and friends. She was a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many and was always full of life. She loved spending time with her family and friends at parties and gatherings. She enjoyed dancing and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. She worked as a crossing guard for 23 years for Chicago Public Schools. She was about to retire this summer due to the hemorrhagic stroke she had in September of 2023 never fully recovered from. She was a great woman, the rock of the family, and a mother figure to many people other than her children. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
