Jesus Avila age 61 of Hegewisch, passed away on November 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Jesus was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family, and watching and playing soccer. Jesus was known to be the hardest working man of the family, and finished his career as Superintendent after 30+ years working for a demolition company. Jesus was a man of many talents, and found joy in the simple things like planting and cultivating his own hot peppers. Beloved son of Antonio and Elena Avila, loving husband of Celia Avila, cherished father of Antonio Avila, Juan Alejandro Avila (Marilyn), Araceli Avila, Ulysis Avila, Uriel Avila, and Bryan Avila. Loving grandfather of Elinna, Mikey, Teresa, and Emily. Loving brother of Rosalba, Emma, late Guadalupe, late Jose, Jorge, Javier, and Juan.

A Funeral Mass for Jesus will be held at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church of East Chicago, IN on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. Visitation for Jesus will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 4 PM until 10 PM at Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666).
