It is with great sadness in announcing the passing of Henry B. Garcia on December 23rd 2024 (97 yrs old). Of the East side, formerly of South Chicago. Born in Hammond IN, raised on a farm in Marion IN. Son of the late Bartolo and late Tulez Garcia. Loving Husband to the late Maria Garcia. Beloved Brother to the late Guadalupe, late Anthony, late John, late Jesse, late Mary, late Trinadad, late Anastasia, and survived by his sister Teresa (Barney) Medina. Father to Ruben (Barb) Garcia, late Robert (Martha) Garcia, the late Reynaldo (Denise) Garcia and his loving daughter Rebecca Garcia Uncle to many nieces and nephews and blessed to be the grandfather and great grandfather to many. Henry was born in an era that was known as the "Greatest Generation," and he lived by his life's motto: "If you give your word, Honor it." Henry was a navy veteran and worked as a crane operator for LTV Steel. Henry enjoyed a long life filled with family and friends and the simple pleasures of life. He was a hard worker and lived for his family through all of life's moments. Henry took a lot of pride in his work and was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy. Henry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation for Henry will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Service to follow on Friday, January 3, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Prayers from Chapel at 11:00 am for Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery of Calumet City.
