August L. Wopinski

August L. Wopinski age 84, of Dyer formerly of Hegewisch passed away on May 11, 2017. August served in the US Army during the Korean war as a Corporal and classified document messenger. August was a retired electrician from Inland Steel after 40 years of service. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Florian Church of Hegewisch and member of the Choir and lead Usher. Beloved husband of late Loretta M. Wopinski (nee Lenart), loving father of Mark (Cynthia) Wopinski, Chris Wopinski, Pam (Robert) Stack, cherished grandfather of Mike, Angela, Allen and Selina, dearest great-grandfather of Hazel, loving brother of late Valerie and John Thomas. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 3 PM until 8 PM at the Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666). Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 8 AM until 9 AM. Prayers from Chapel at 9 AM for a 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Florian Church with Rev. James Mezydlo officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. August will be dearly missed by family and friends.
