Obituary

In Loving Memory of Andrew Matthew Garcia

August 13, 1996 – August 8, 2026

Andrew Matthew Garcia, lovingly known as “Andy,” passed away on August 8, 2026, just five days before his 30th birthday.

Andy was truly a “do anything for anyone” kind of person. He lived life on his own terms and to the fullest, and those who knew him will remember his kind heart, generous spirit, and the smile he so often had on his face. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and had a way of making everyone around him feel welcomed and cared for.

A man of many talents and passions, Andy loved to cook and was incredibly handy, with skills ranging from carpentry and plumbing to electrical work. He was also well known throughout the neighborhood as the kind and helpful manager at Family Dollar, where he made a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Of all the things Andy loved and took pride in, however, nothing meant more to him than his family—especially his three beautiful daughters, Alice, Irene, and Gianna. When he wasn’t working or helping someone else, Andy wanted to be with the people he loved most.

Andy was a devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, John Garcia. He leaves behind his mother, Norma Garcia; his brothers, John Garcia, Edward Garcia, and Joe Garcia; his sister, Vivian Garcia; his niece, Adriana Alvarado; his nephews, Jonathan Garcia and Joseph Angel Garcia Jr.; and, most especially, his cherished daughters, Alice Garcia, Irene Garcia, and Gianna Garcia.

Andy was a loving man who had room in his heart for everyone. To him, there were no strangers—only people he had not yet had the chance to call family. His kindness, humor, generosity, and love for those around him will continue to live on in the countless memories shared by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

And in Andy’s own words, a phrase his family will carry with them forever:

“Another day, another dollar.”

Happy Birthday, Andy. You are deeply loved and will be forever missed.
