Alicia Cavazos age 73 of Hammond, formerly of South Chicago, passed away on July 20, 2017. Alicia enjoyed music, nature, dancing, plants, and cooking. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, and her favorite icon was Betty Boop. Alicia was a retired florist after many years of service. Beloved daughter of late Jose Cavazos and Adela Pena, loving life-long partner of late Arthur Villabos, loving mother of Martin (Denise) Rivera, Esmeralda (Rudy) Herrera, Cherished grandmother of seventeen grandchildren. Dearest sister of Gene Cordaway, late Rose Moore, Dora Newport, August Cordaway Jr., and Gina Baldwin. Visitation will be on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2 PM until 9 PM at the Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666). Funeral Mass to commence at 10 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Church of Hammond, IN. Interment private. Alicia was a devoted mother and homemaker, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
