Maurice "Pappas" Nelson
1983 - 2019
Maurice "Pappas" Nelson, age 35, of the East Side passed away on March 22, 2019. Maurice was a talented individual that was always willing to lend an ear to all that sought advice. He loved playing basketball and was a talented artist. In his younger years, Maurice would box in competitions and he collected many trophy's that he won. Maurice was full of goals and dreams waiting to be fulfilled. He was on his way to becoming a security officer. His outgoing personality and religious ways helped him spread the word of god to all that would listen. In his time here on earth he was able to touch and inspire many people around him. Maurice was loved by many people, and was known by his nickname "Pappas" that he had since he was very young. Maurice is survived by his mother Irma Hall; his sister Amanda Quinonez (Jordan Rivera whom he was very fond of). His aunt Gloria Quinonez, Uncle Michael Quinonez, Daniel Quinonez and Rene Quinonez. His beloved cousins Ulyssa Martinez, Phat boy, Robert Martinez, Felicia Quinonez, Krystal Quinonez, Patricia Quinonez, Melissa Quinonez, and Karessa Quinonez. Visitation will be on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 3 PM until 8 PM at Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch, 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 9 AM until 11 AM. Prayers from chapel at 11 AM for Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City. Pappas will be missed by many friends and loved ones.
