Jose I. Ortiz

Jose I. Ortiz age 60 of Mobile, Alabama formerly of South Chicago, passed away on June 20th 2019. Jose was born in Vernon Texas on September 24, 1958 to the union of Francisca and Macario Ortiz (father deceased) and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from St Francis de Sales High School and furthered his education at his MacCormac College. Jose lived to cherish his life memories with Gloria Henighan; two daughters Victoria (Lupe) and Marisa (Edgar); three sisters Rosa, Hortencia (Arturo Sr) and Martha (Sergio Sr); three brothers Eduardo, Vicente (Silvia) and Macario Jr (Irene); a host of nieces and nephews and an honorable friend of many. Jose worked as an Operations Manager for IPS for 7 years. He enjoyed watching sports especially the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, he was the KING of the grill and loved to travel. Visitation will be on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 3 PM until 8 PM at Sadowski Funeral Home of Hegewisch: 13300 S. Houston Ave. Chicago, IL 60633 (773-646-1666). A Funeral Mass for Jose will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of South Chicago at 8:45 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery Calumet City.
